An L-Shaped Scar

Scary thing, a scar.
One would think it´s fully healed,
and it´s nothing but a scratch
in the diary of misfortune.

I could tell you L number of stories of how I got it.
I´m starting to forget which one is real.
They all hurt the same.

I could tell as many more
about you and I, and maybe
I could convince myself that they were true.

Scary thing, the truth hiding behind
the infinite spellings of a single, capital scar.

But this one: you may read it as you will,
it´ll always say L.

Scary,
the things that start with L.
