Bad Shoe Vol2
Winter was long, expensive, and disruptive to our sanity, but we got together an impressive and variegated body of poetry and prose from the city’s best female poets and paired them with a stellar collection of drawings by Rebecca Leighton that celebrate the body feminine. In Vol 2, we synthesized the utter life chaos and seasonal despair into a hand-stitched little beauty.
We feel that the work in the winter issue is an apt representation of St. Louis: dirty, sweet, long-winded, short-tempered, forgetful, sentimental, surreal, and oh-so-fucking-melancholy. We hope that these words evoke your passion and love for this city but never in celebration fail to remind you of its filth and ills.
We love printing our little book, and are proud of the voice with which it broadcasts this incredible work. Why Bad Shoe? Because we all have a few in the back of our closet. Dig them out, lace them up, and share.
